Lake John Fishery

Lake John was the "baby" of John Shinkins who sadly died only one week after stocking it.

Colin Bartlett took over and has made it the prolific venue it is now.

The venue actually comprises of 2 lakes containing Carp to 30lb,Tench,Bream,Perch,Rudd,Chubblets & Gudgeon.
There are currently five swims on the main lake which are suitable for use by the disabled.
The Car park is next to the lake and is visible from all swims, thereby creating a safe environment in which to leave your vehicle.
They also now have a cafe on site which is open Tuesday to Sunday 9am to 3pm.

METHODS: General float fishing it would seem for Tench and Bream , and feeder fishing for the same species are feeding around the island, along with those big Carp (this lake is now producing at least one 20lb fish every day at the moment), for the new comers to angling there is always advice on the bank, and a good days sport on the caster, and the maggot, no further than 4m from the bank all pegs will produce at the moment.
Now for those big Carp hunters, you don't need boilies to catch big fish, meat and pellet are the food of the day along with those nasty smelling boilie dips. The island is very productive and p.v.a netting a few freebies on the cast is having the desired affect.

Lake John Fishery operates on a purely first come first served basis.

A booking system will however remain in place for the club organisers.

Please be aware there is a 5 MPH speed restriction on site and is rigorously enforced.
